All you can do to save and secure your most skilled employee in a business into always appreciate them by giving them bonus, there was an issue at my work where our mathematics teacher decided to resign because the salary is just too small and he has been complaining , but they decided to call him back the following day to increase his pay but its already late, some one else has already promised him better offer.

The easy way to keep or retained a skilled employees is to make sure you have a good relationship with him and try and maintained that relationship at any cost. That's normal, when you aren't happy with the way the company is treating you, that will surely lead to under performance and imminent resignation.

I don't need any special treatment because I am not God, at least they have to show that my services is being valued, they should not just behave as if they do not care and start treating me as if I'm just an ordinary person, no encouragement word,or even an appreciation.

Lol, everyone deserves to be treated right, be it employees or employers and even the ordinary humans. We're all humans we need to be treated equally, and not mistreating any.
 
You can retain most of the skillful employee in your business by providing them of all the necessary tools that will make work easier for them to do, you can also increase their salary if your company is capable of handling a slight increase in salary to these people.
 
For me it's building a better relationship between you and your employees. When you are in good relationship, you will find it easy to retain them.
 
Sometimes promotion is always one of the best characteristic a good business organisation should adopts because promoting them will make them to be at a higher position and they will appreciate this a lot.
