Which should one go for: skills or higher education pursuit?

The two are actually very important,the thing is that the specicialisation is where the interest lies,some task would require technicalities to operate,then the issue of skill would be required here,others might be theoritical approach to problem solving.

Most people say that the way the world is going, more emphasis will be placed on secular skills than on University degrees. But should this be the case? As important as skills are, should higher education be relegated to the background?
I need your opinions on this.

I think both can be combined, it doesn't necessarily have to be one or the other. However, if I were to be really picky, I think learning a skill is more beneficial at this moment in time because specialization in a particular skill could enable you form your own niche whereas the job market is so saturated now.

Both of them are very important , but mostly depends on what you want . You are expected to go for something that is lucrative. Some skills and educational qualification are useless because some of them may not really have needs in the society and also depending on your location.

This is a very tough topic because it needs a lot of thinking and I would prefer that you should possess both. You need the skills and you also need education to be able to pull successful career.

When it comes to the issue of a job,it will actually depend on the task that the organisation is into,if its purely technical matters then the aspect of skills would be neccessary.

If you dont have a skill nowadays in which you can use in making money , it will be very difficult to make a living with higher education pursuit , because of the unemployment situation out there .

For me I would go for skills. Nowadays college or university degree doesn't guarantee one a job opportunity due to the rampant unemployment predicaments in the whole world. However a skilled person would not miss anything to do.

I think you will need both of them. Because if you have the skills without education how can you work with it and if you have the education without skills how can you work with it. So both will be needed

Depends on exactly what you want to be. I think there's a lot of opportunity in finding a trade. My husband took college classes for welding, didn't finish, but got a great job as a welder anyways. They didn't care if he'd been to college or not. There are also a lot of things we can learn online that we don't necessarily need degrees for, even though they look good on paper.

You are very correct but you can't just neglect the need for educating yourself thou skills is good but someone with a college degree have better advantage than you in all dimensions
