I think that we humans regularly consume harmful chemicals on daily basis. We consume soft drinks, processed foods, and many other kind of junk food that contain a lots of harmful chemicals. It might be possible that similar kind of chemicals exist in pet food as well. So, when a person opts for such kind of unusual job like pet food testing, I really doubt that such kind of food will have any major impact on the person.

I think that this story is about substandard pet food production. Yes, there are many companies that manufacture substandard products that may harm both animals and humans. I heard of cases where many humans died due to food poisoning and those foods were specifically created by many companies for humans. There are many good pet food production companies that produce harmless food.

The problem is that there is no way I am going to know if that kind of food is substandard or not but I think in this situation the pet food is not substandard but there is a challenge with the company that made the food. This has led to the dog food being recalled to prevent further deaths of dogs that are eating it.
