How much capital, in terms of time, is needed to start a business?

Just like a new born baby, a new business needs care and pampering. It demands a lot of concentration. Nurture and give it time to be able to stand well. Without proper time management it is almost impossible to set up a business

This will obviously depend on the type of business you are trying to setup. Some may take little time to kickstart, others take more time. The availability of capital/resources will actually play a role in speed of starting up the business. As long as everything is on ground including your manpower, your good to go.

The first module focuses on how to build a great team, the second module on the environment you operate in and the third module discusses the importance of knowing your target market.

How much money and time you need to spend to start a business depends on the business niche and well as business size. If your business is small and you are dealing with handful of products, you can start in less than one month.

If you are selling second hand items on facebook marketplace, you can start your business with zero investment (you are selling your own item) because you do not have to pay seller fees on facebook marketplace

Of course when it comes to a business the amount of capital that you will need in order to start that business will vary based on the business model that you have. For example someone that is looking to sell clothes may need a small investment and someone that is looking to sell electronic items because the cost of each item may be lower for their business. So in that regard the amount of capital that you need is going to be dependent on what type of business you own.

However, in terms of a time period, how much capital do you think is needed in order to start a business? In my opinion starting of a business is always a slow venture as you build up your customer base, and they always initial capital investment such up to pay off before you can start earning a profit. Therefore, I think that when you start a business you should have at least six to eight months worth of capital that can give you going through all this time in order to cover your operating costs and possible losses through this time.

What do you think will be a suitable time period that you should account for when starting up your own business?
Hmm... that's true having enough capital to sustain the business is necessary because at the beginning of the business, don't really expect huge profit but loses and for the business to continue during those loses you will have to cover up this loses before the business stand on it own.

Their are some trending commodities that fades at some point after it must have been ordered plenty. If you watch closely band follow market demands, you can buy this kind of commodities, advertise them in the best possible way. Knowing too well, they can sell faster within some period of time and bring fast profit to you. If you fail to follow the market trend, and decide to buy later when the commodity is on the fading, it will really be hard for you to recover your investment. That's why you need to be updated on the trending market commodities and know when it is time to buy and sell them.

As you have rightly said a business path and its trajectory heavily depends on the type of business and I think that also includes the time that it might require to scale. Sometimes there is no particular time that a business should blow instead you should look at metrics that suggests the businesses is growing or in decline.

One mistake some business owners normally make is thinking that only money is needed to start business, time and attention is another factor that should be considered. Thank you for bringing this thread up.

When you are about to start a new business, particularly one you are not familiar with, then you need to dedicate a lot lot of time to monitor the business. A new business that has just commenced needs time to nurture it and watch grow. If you know you are not going to have the time to monitor the business, then its better you don't even start.

It depends on what type of business you want to start they are many kinds of business you can start with a small amount of money and some they need a large amount of money to start. So small as 10k you can start a business with it. So you can start a business with a large amount of money too that can make you to go bigger than you think and that needs more experience to handle the business card n other to avoid lost.

It all depends on the business you want to move into, for you to move into a business you need to know how much you have. If you have big budget capital, You can start a big business like fashion, electronics etc. And there is some other businesses you can start if you have low budget

We all know starting a business depends in when you have capital, and you cannot start a business if you are financially decapitated, so it depend on the age you are ready but its adviseable to start when you are young and vibrant.

When it comes to business, the subject of time is just a relativity. There are some businesses that need little time to plan for and start it up, while in others it can take a longer period of time. So it depends on what business one is planning to venture into.
That is true. Another thing is whether or not you have some experience about what the business entails. If you have information about the business already, you won't take time to succeed in it

Getting to know the type of business you are about to start also really matters, you can't just go into a business without knowing anything about the business.

Starting a business requires alot of time and energy is needed and all this depends on the type of business you are planning into start up, no matter how long a business has started it requires alot of time .

Yeah, some people think that their having money is enough, but at the end they end up in regrets Because they lack experience on how best to go about the business.

The amount of capital you looking for to start your business will depend on the type of business you are actually intending to go into

A women that just gave birth to a baby is never in a hurry to utilize her time on the baby. As a matter of fact she gives the baby all her time and attention so is a start up business

I starting a new business needed time dedication by the entrepreneur because that is the only way he can assess his performance in dealing with his customers.
