Employee coaching is when employees are given trainings on how to perform optimally and improve their skills at their designated jobs.
It is very important to an organization because it ensures the employee carry out their responsibilities efficiency.
I remember when I had a sales training, I was able to meet my monthly sales target consecutively.
 
Coaching employees is about creating a shared understanding about what needs to be done and how it is to be. Unlike sports, with coaching employees the coach doesn't take an authoritarian approach but rather looks to collaborate with the employee to identify, target, and plan for better performance.
 
There are four types of leadership styles: directing, coaching, supporting and delegating.

I think employee coaching is another kind of job or position in the HR department of the company. My understanding of employee coaching is a tutorial that is one-on-one in order to improve the performance. Employee coaching is probably a way to sidestep the seminar or workshop which would need a group of participants. In employee coaching it should be one participant to one tutor only so the learning would be intensive and extensive depending on the type of job of the participant.

In a banking sector, if you are employed as a customer service manager, you will have to go through some training on how to attending to customers. This training gives you heads up on how to carry out your job properly
