There is this my friend that started a haulage business with his sister, while he was here in nigeria doing all the running around to make sure that the business works, the sister was in Germany. Both of them were signatories to the business account, but when she came back, she went behind him to make herself the sole signatory to the business account, and that did not go well with the brother, so that was how the business crumbled.

I have not had any experience with a dishonest business partner. I don't even own a business to begin with. It's a bad thing for partners to be dishonest to one another. They ought to work together towards improving the business.

You are actually very lucky when it comes to dealing with a partner who is very honest with your business dealings because a lot of people have witnessed so many slide in their business as a result of dealing with dishonest human beings.

Wow, I guess she made such move out of greed. What about their relationship as siblings? I believe this would place a mark on that as well.

I have never had a partner but I have seen many people fighting after getting into business partnerships. If you cannot trust the other person, then simply do not get into a partnership. It is a simple rule.

You can still go into a business plan with a family member/friend without problems. However, you have to set clear boundaries and rules especially when it involves money.

I have similar experience, haven't come in contact with a dishonest partner, because I try as much as possible to checkmate and access every one before the initiation of any partnership or talk or less starting business with them

Seriously, lack of trust in the business is going to be very difficult challenge for you in that kind of situation and it's always very frustrating knowing that you can't trust your business partner.

This is actually the main reason why I am also very comfortable with dealing on one-man business instead of jumping into partnership where I always have trust issues dealing with my partner.

I have a business partner which we have been working together as car dealers. One day I was far from home when he discuss with me on phone that someone needs exactly the type of Toyota Camry brand the person was looking for and decided to transfer a sum of 5million naira cash. Few hours he told me his friends were not interested in buying that type again that I should make transfer of 4.5millions back to his own account and quickly I did, but to my surprise I latter find out that my account was used for fraudulent activity. The next day I saw the police in my office that have arrested the kidnappers with my friend and I to their station.

There was a partner who I had who was always fond of stealing from the company. It went on like that for a very long time till I was able to catch him and then be separated from the business immediately.

It was a laundry soap production. I insisted that we should start on aloe scale so as to mitigate losses if things go wrong. He refused by assuring me that he is an expert in the field and also have an established distributor. It was later that I discovered the reason for rejecting the idea of starting small and opted for medium production. This is so that he could make more money off me( he virtually handled everything as I didn't know much about soap production). Almost all the production items he bought,I later discovered that the prices were all inflated. Any attempt made by me to source for production materials were rebuffed by him, saying that he won't be held liable if i bought a fake. It was quite an expensive/unfortunate experience for me as it almost texted my performance at my job.

Oh my! That was indeed an unfortunate experience. I have not had any bad partnership experience. People just make trust an impossible thing by the way they act. We should be more careful with the kind of people we partner with.

Dishonest business Partner is the sole reason why most people prefer working alone as a sole proprietorship because their mental thinking is always on how to take all the share of the business.

Personally I never had one before. I don't know but I cannot withstand dishonest people in my life because personally I always try as much as possible to be straight forward and I expect other people to also do the same.
