Is it profitable to sell products through catalogs?

I don't really know much on that , but I believe it may not actually be suitable here because of so many things. This can only be profitable in a well standard country with good arrangement.
 
Sounds like an MLM/network marketing opportunity. To be honest, I'm not a fan of those, but a lot depends on where you live and the exact company. In the EU there are pretty strict regulations and I know people for whom selling Avon or Oriflame through catalogues is profitable. I have also come across MLM's though that are quite shady. And if it's a company where you have to buy inventory in order to be in business, I would say avoid it like the plague. It's a recipe for losing money for the majority of people.

I think it's a good business but the bottom line is that the business idea looks archaic. If you noticed that she has recorded good profit, then you will join her.
 
This could be profitable but it seems a lot of people are not enjoying the business because of dishonesty by so many people. This will make the whole thing unprofitable and at the end the sellers will always be at lost. This happen in some cases though.
 
It is actually a multi-level marketing method. it can also be affiliate marketing because when you sell your product and you get some certain percentage then you will make some good amount of money. of course if the product is very good and people can actually sell it then she will be making good amount of money from it at the end of the day and the thing is that the employees will be paid according to what they sale.
 
I do not think you can generate a lot of sales through catalogs if your business is not well known and if your products are not popular. However, if you are selling products from popular brands, this can be a good strategy to generate sales.

If a customer wants some information about a particular product, then they could use catalogues. Under such circumstances, a customer may be able to find a useful product and buy it. So, catalogues could have had played some role in this regards.

Yeah, that's very correct. It's one of the best ways to influence your customers buying habit with putting in other products that's going to used with what they have purchased. This directly creates a new need for them and when the products in the catalogue are good, they will most likely buy from it.
