How often should you do giveaways?

Some people are always online to take advantage of the offers they get online in form of free giveaway. So, it's not something to be used often to avoid being taken advantage of.

Giveaway is not something that need to be done often it is something that some people does when they see that their business is been overtake by some other competitor so some people do this to bring their customer back,I will even prefer doing this once in a month

Never seen most website doing giveaway for any reason but they are always interested to write good content which can give them a lot of traffic with Google. Instead of giveaway it is even the best option to use that opportunity to write good quality content to attract people.

I rarely do giveaways.
I may give customer bonuses and discounts during the festive seasons.
This alone makes my customers stick around.

I don't usually do giveaways, as they tend to not draw in a ton of traffic that sticks around, but I had the idea to do a giveaway at the end of each month for people that stick around. But, how often should I be doing these type of giveaways? I figure if I maybe do it every week, it would garauntee more people sticking around. What do you think?

A weekly giveaway will actually lead to some loss and so I prefer it be once a month when everyone is settled, spending every week for give away is unnecessary spending though it is a strategy but then it shouldn't be that frequent
