When I hired a contributor for my site, I hired a writer that I knew from the forum where I posted. Since I had read her forum post, it was easy for me to choose her. Over the years I have hired a lot of people whom I met on the sites I worked. I have also hired on SEOclerks and upwork.

I never hired any freelancer before to help me do tasks. Every webmaster at some point hire freelancers to help them out in one way to the other in their website.

I am not yet in that position to hire staff, however, I really wish that someone hires me so that I can make some bucks.

A lot of care should be taken when you are hiring because some people might cheat on you. For example, you hired a writer and that writer might be selling the same article elsewhere.
If the writer sells such articles elsewhere, it will be spotted by google as plagiarism, if you run google adsense in your website. Because your articles have been monetized, and the copy rights belongs to you.

Yes I think I hadn't people you have seen their hand work and how good they can write is the best. There are also professional writers in freelancing sites such as fiverr.

Our office website is an e-magazine with 4 articles every week. We have contract writers who submit articles that we pay at $10 when published. Rejection is very rare though because the writers are certified by our editor. I am also one of the writers and that's where I learned the joy of writing articles especially when I completely know the topic.

There are a lot of places I go to hire people to do certain tasks that are online based. I sometimes go to reputable customers that has done work for me on fiverr on a regular basis

I don't think I am in that position to hire staff because I don't have website but hiring a staff you should hire them with care, and also to pay for their work well done.

When it comes to hiring someone for work on your website, we really should be careful the kind of access we give such persons conducting such services on our websites, so they don't steal from us without us knowing they are the ones stealing from us

I haven't had a permanent website yet, I am feeling reluctant about the responsibilities that comes with it but the project website had a team that worked on it so no need to recruit.

The best way to hire a staff for your website is to make sure that they have experienced in writing creating quality content, learned and also make sure that they are smart in running any website.

You are really smart and have sharp eyes for good people , its a gift to be able to see an amazing individual in your sorrounding, I also have someone here that you can hire if you still need more writer , I will link you guys up

Hiring from the people you've met before and saw their writing ability is worthwhile. Hiring workers for your business online should be based on quality job which can be offered by the staff or employee and not quantity work without meaning.

I think hiring a staff should be easy based on there intelligent, knowledge about online activities like SEO and the like from there you know there skills and employ them.

I personally if i had a website, i would hire someone who's mature, capable of performing his duties and responsible enough to work in my staff team

I do my own seo, therefore, I do not hire someone with seo knowledge. There is no need to hire someone with seo knowledge unless you want him to do do seo on your site.

At the early stages of my online work, I didn't hire any staff to be working for me on my website because I had wanted to actually familiarize myself with all the online tasks on my website alone

You can hire workers to your site by inviting them from another website, hiring someone you have studied that's good in the aspect and the field where he /she is needed is not hard to get online,

In hiring a person to work for me on my website, I will rather that i go to a popular website and get someone with a very high reputation score to handle such kind of task for more efficiently

I don't yet have a website that requires employing people but if paradventure my blog becomes very active and has a lot of traffic so I think I will employ my stuff from the blog by choosing the most active member on the blog to be doing the work of moderator and all the jobs there.

It is not that hard this days to get people who are skilled for your site. The best thing I think I do is to look through social media for people in that niche and reach out to them .

I am also a member of a forum in my country where I easily get people to write for me. I also use freelancing sites to get good writers for my blog always.

And from the look of things nowadays , it is no longer a difficult thing to get staff to hire to do your online web management. You will always get to see people marketing themselves on the task.

you do not have to hire anyone you see but you need to look into a lot of things that could make the person the most suitable for the position like a good understanding of English and you need to test the person for an ability to solve complicated issues. There are alot of things you all need to consider but let's hear from others.

When you hire a staff for your website do ensure that the person is genuinely and intellectually upright and honest to promote the system.

This is a strategy my company is most times too to ensure that they get the best candidate for the job, they make findings if there is someone who can be refered for the job that has the experience and positive reviews.

When I have to hire staff, I think I would go to a freelancing site like upwok and post a job. If I am hiring, I would want professional and experienced people.

Well hiring of staff would be based on the level of commitment and if their vision are in line with mine. Most times these decisions is very much being influenced by the level of activities carried out by a particular person

it's really hard to trust a worker or a guy online, I prefer to hire an offline friend and teach him for a period about what you want him to do on your site.

Seriously this is better and you won't fear a situation where someone you hire online can hijack your website and leave you in a confused state.

of course, but still, there are excellent and honest workers online, and the best example is what happened for me with @Alexander

He trusts me and the same for me even we never talk or meet in real life.

Yours is a special case and it is obvious you are a good person even from your activities on other websites before bizdustry. I believe it's what gave them the reason to select you and you didn't disappoint.

The best way for you to hire staff for your website is to always look for people who are best and conversant with website activities and work who have the knowledge and the capacity to give good output to site.

It's really a pleasure to hear that from you, and as you said, a man should be a kind and hard worker if he wants to reach the top.
Trust is growing by time and by work, nothing else.

This is true because it helps the site owner to not waste Money training a staff on how to go about his duties since he's already possessing the knowledge required.

Maybe you should hie someone from upwork or fiverr, if they try to cheat on you you can simply make a complain and penalize them through the site.

That is also a good alternative too if you have the money to pay them, but if one does not have the money to pay them, you can just choose a friend and train which would be cheaper.

That's also a good idea, but the problem is their salary, recruiting someone from there will cost you a lot of money.

Hiring a staff is not a difficult one to achieve or do. You hire a staff for your website with the level of years of experience and expertise in website designing and managements. You can also employ the services of third party recruiter to help you to employ staff for your website.

Hiring is truly not a difficult thing. The major deal is in your being ready to pay the money they would be demanding from you at the end of their work.

I don't think so. I have seen dozens of people competing for a job that pay just $5 yet you have to work for hours. You can find skilled people on these platforms

I am also a member of a forum in my country where I easily get people to write for me. I also use freelancing sites to get good writers for my blog always.
It is an amazing thing for me to know that you make use of freelancing platform to get people to write articles for your blog and I have never considered this but I am going to do this today because I have been running foul of posting contents on my blog.

Every staffs have specific functions why they're hired to represent in a website, either business or forum site. Some are hired to help the site owner for updating contents, maintenance, and promotions etc.

Most sites get high skilled tech experts to frequently check for any loophole that would get their websites hacked by online hackers. This is very good when the site owner isn't well knowledgeable about how to go about it.

Those tech saavys can help secure the site firewall and regularly conduct maintenance to update security protocol to make it uneasy for malware hackers to penetrate.

Sometimes putting up advertisement on the site is a good way . One can also use recommendation from free lancing sites like Fiverr and freelancer.com

Especially at most developing and under developing countries, the level of unemployment is very high so it will be very easy to get many people to hire for any particular site work

The best way to recruite someone to work for you is getting them and recruiting them online through forum sites at you can spot their talents on social media and invite them to work for you.

Hiring of worker for a website or something else can be done usually through known acquitances and these days lots of hiring are being done online too so there is that

And it is worth it for a site owner to spend on getting such people to take care of their site security as it won't be nice to have your website taken down by hackers.

Sire that won't be nice to take down by hackers. No websites owner that is ambitious will allow that to happen yo him or her. That's why strict security protocol needs to be deployed.

yes a lot of people that will need some people to work for them as you said will always go for people with the best rating because they just believe that they are the people that will be able to do the task perfectly based on the rating.

I don't have a forum anymore but when I did I used to promote members to moderator positions whenever I felt the forum need a new moderator and the member had proved themselves as trustworthy and active. I prefer to promote from within the community rather than outsourcing.

Only those who are not willing to pay good money would go for those with low rating and low Payment required. They usually regret in the end.

Experience in writing is the best things you need to consider when you are hiring someone for your site, because they are the one that will help to bring your online community to a greater level through writing and proper expression.

I haven't actually owned a website actually but if possible I own anyone I would love to have a close and experience , serious and good personel to work it out for me.

I think it all depends on which type of content you are looking for. Articles can be tricky, because if you do hire a writer known for writing articles for various sites, you most likely will end up with a duplicate/copy-cat post.
But if it’s a forum and you need forum posters, any freelance job board showcasing workers’ talents and rates would be your best bet. There are (or maybe were) sites that hire out their forum posters to do just that, and I’ve worked for two of them. Postloop, which is now closed, and The Forum Wheel which is under new management. I knew Forum Wheel when Ken ran the site. Now it’s a little sketchy. But the site is still up.

They might not actually regret because in the freelance site when you are doing a bad business, you have to rate the person you have done a business with, the fear of bad rating will make them not to scam you, they might be inexperience that is all.

Some do not fear bad rating as they usually manage the few unsuspecting persons that still go ahead to use them for completion of their services.

I most times hire staffs fory website jobs through the word of mouth from persons and individuals that I know to recommend staffs for me as I would want to physically know them before hiring them

This is better as so many people pretend to be good online while offline, they are not what they portray online. Good to know them in real life before hiring them.

when I hired a content writer for the first time, I hired the guy that was recommended to me by a close friend. These days I hire on forums and freelancer sites.

Recommended writers would definitely be reliable as the close friends who refer them must have had positive working experience will them.

You may hire a person who is the most active user on your blog or website and the one who plans to stay on your website for a really long time. It is always a good idea to hire someone who is experienced when it comes to moderating the website or someone who has experience managing your website.

That is a nice strategy as this helps to even avoid spending another time training a totally ignorant person on how to go about things.

When it comes to managing a lucrative online business like the e-commerce, forum sites, social medias etc, they all needs staffs to run perfectly.

You just scout for web developers and them you’ll get yourself one it can be a bit pricey but it’s worth it at least your site will be maintained and have minor and certain upgrades !

It seems most of them are requesting high payment often which is why so many people do not consider hiring them for their websites.

Nice one my friend, but I think it's also good if you hire from freelancing sites. They have professionals there and you will be sure of Working with an experienced person.

It is nice to always select the best and make sure they are people who have the best interest of your website at heart so they don't cheat you.

The majority of the recruitment process for the software company that I once worked for was from freelance and remote job site because they are more cheaper to manage.

The best way to hire a staff or a group of individuals for your website is to advertise in newspaper. You can post the job in the newspaper and demand people to apply who have relevant experience when it comes to website management.

I hire forum manager or content writer from a forum in my country called nairaland. This is a very large forum that talk on different topics and people also meet for business.

Thanks for letting us know. I believe that forums are also a great way to advertise and let people know what you are offering. Nairaland is a very popular forum, but as far as I know, it is only limited to Nigerians only, right?

I believe that it's something that most people who own a website do often on regular basis. Even there, the owner hired some people to work for him as well.

By interviewing them and reviewing some of their previous work. Just like you said you hired someone because you could attest to the previous work done by that person.

I don't have any website(s) I am running at the moment, and I have not hired any staff to work for me in any website before. I don't see anything wrong in asking for help when it is needed as no man is an island. We all need each other one time or the other. It is just my opinion though.

I think you are talking about freelancing platforms. There are many ways to hire workers online for your offline jobs. But when it comes to freelancing, there are various platforms such as Fiverr, upwork, Freelancer, etc that are quite popular. have you tried the Freelancer platform before?

Yes, I believe I hadn't because you've seen their handiwork and how well they can write. Professional writers can also be found on freelance services like Fiverr.

If I will be hiring a staff to manage my website in the nearest future, I will ensure I get someone with more experience and has the patient to fish out what might not be really okay with the website and for website promotion.

Going for someone who I can actually trust, from either other communities or from a member who applied who seems legit. If I have a bigger site, then I get them from upwork or fiverr.

You are a absolutely correct and I am one of the members that you have hired before. Hiring The members of the forum is indeed a very good idea. And it would make your website content a good one.

At the start, you might need an extra pair of hands to manage your online store: track new orders, chat with customers, update inventory. If you manufacture your products yourself, you will likely want an assistant.

For some tasks, such as handling shipping, you’ll naturally want office workers. If the job has a physical component, you want people working next to you. However, for many other roles, such as marketing, you can hire remote workers. Since these jobs can be completed using digital tools, it doesn’t matter where your workers are located.

Hiring remote workers offers several benefits for a growing business:

The easiest way I think is to base it on referrals because if someone is working on another website they generally are open to operating on more than one website at the same time and if you see that they have a good work ethic you can obviously hire them.

If you'd hire someone for your forum, what are the criteria for it, and how would you reward them for their job?

I usually hire internally, as usually the people that want to help, are usually those that are already on the forum. Though I have no problems hiring off forum, if I know of people at other places that might be able to fill positions to help out.

Right now. I am looking for staff for my news forum. Its a free process. Not a paid position. Quite difficult finding someone on here to join my site as a news editor and/or news reporter.

Honestly, from my opinions it's best just to hire someone who is already a part of your forum. They will have already been apart of the community so its far less problematic than hiring someone who hasn't been apart of the community and as such will likely cause problems.

Unless it is a big, busy, revenue-earning forum I would not hire people. There are plenty who will do mod work for free. If you need someone to work on admin-related things though and managing a server, you will likely need to pay them.

It can be difficult to run a business online, but you can hire staff via referrals, freelancing platforms, or even social media!

Am good at programming and blogging is my passion. I run my own website. But in the future planning to hire some staff to help me in building chat systems on my website. Would probably introduce Vip membership and other packages at that time.

If I'd hire staff for my forum, I would search on online freelance marketplaces like Fiverr, Upwork, Guru, etc, and see the reviews on their service by other buyers. Then, I would ask them to write a trial post on my forum. If I like their work, I'd hire them and reward them

I think that the first thing that you would look for is their language and the quality of their posts as well because this will give you an indication as to how serious they are to be involved with the website.
