How can small scale businesses resist competition from large scale businesses?

l have seen so many small scale businesses in my area that have failed because of unhealthy competition with the large scale competition. Most of those businesses tried using the penetrating pricing scheme to enter the market but yet could'nt succeed because the large scale businesses offers large discounts when they realise that strategy.

In your own opinion, what are some of your views about how a small scale business can resist competition from large scale bussinesses?
 
I don't think small scale business has any capability to face Large scale business when it comes to business competition and productivity, large scale business will surely bully the small one
 
I'll advice that the small scale business should rather look for a less competitive location because the competitor being a large scale business has the upper hand in sending the smaller business to bankruptcy

QUALITY is the key . Once a small scale business has quality products compared to large scale business, there is no effect that price discount by large scale business will have on small scale business
 
Any small scale business that is trying to compete with a bigger brand without a proper business strategy is obviously going to fail. If the bigger brands have the market why compete in the first place, when you clearly cannot match their quality and service delivery.
 
It not possible for small scale compite with large scale business the difference between them are really more than what someone can even talk about... If someone with small scale business want to compite with someone that have large scale business bit not possible

I don't see meaning in this kind of question, because small scale businesses have no competition with large scale businesses. All have a single goal to make profit, recite this topic. Like, saying, what are the big difference between small scale businesses and large scale businesses!!
 
You need to improve on your Marketing skills, Simply put — small businesses need to think smart.

We don’t have the big budgets to blow through for “exposure”, we need something that brings in ROI, and preferably today rather than tomorrow.
 
The competition from big businesses will always be there, so small businesses just have to accept this and work within their means. They should focus more on making sales rather than beating competitions. Big businesses were once referred to as small as well.
 
The truth of the matter is you can't resist competition in any niche or industry you find yourself. You just need to be patient to get your own customers with different strategies and make sure they don't go away

Maybe your point is right but yet I still believe pressure (competition) from large scale businesses affect the growth of the small scale businesses and I was just asking how the small scale business can withstand that pressure from the large scale businesses.
 
The only way you can resist competitors is by being the best in what you do, no matter how small your business is as long as you do it well and also consistently you'll be know as the best. You must also consider "quality" not "quantity.
 
I agree with the quality totally. If the products are really of best quality, l don't think there can be any other way a small scale business can suffer from any pressure from large scale business.
That's it. My people use to say that , it is through the eye that you will know a ripe corn. People will always go for the best quality and not based on the company

Okay, you made some point now, you know that large scale businesses always draws away those wealthy customers away from the small scale businesses. Wealthy people have buying things in a large quantity and in a broad business initiative. They can't see themselves going to small business initiative to buy from. This one of the strong competition it posses the small scale businesses.
 
The small scale business can resist competition only if it is situated far away from the large scale business and if it's price can also go almost same as the large scale because people don't bother to go as far to buy if the cost is cheap.
 
It is very difficult to be honest, you'll need to create your path. To be able to compete you'll have to create a strong and deep relationship with your customers. If they believe they can offer unique products and services to them they'll definitely turn to you when they need such.
 
Large scale businesses have no business competing with small scale businesses..... large companies have already made a name for themselves over time and most people patronize them.... If a small scale business wants to attain that level they should sit down, brainstorm and get intelligent ideas that will grow their business
 
How can a small scale businesses resist competition with large scale businesses? Well I would say the small scale businesses should always maintained their quality standard at all times.
 
Let's take for example a boutique that sells clothing items, personal accessories, footwear, toiletries (soap, shampoo). Usually the small scale boutique is situated in residential areas while the large scale boutiques are in the mall. If there will be a mall beside your small scale boutique then your only option is to move to a better location where the people can only see your store. You cannot compete head-on with the giants, so to speak.
 
I don't think a small biz can ever resit the competition from a big firm. All they can do is strive to improve as much as people and never joke with standard of outputs.
