The golden rule of employment or in recruitment, don't ever employ someone you can't correct, scold and most importantly sack.
Be it your family or friends if you can't reprimand the person or purnish them when they do something wrong or if you can't sack them, then no need of employing them.
 
Doing a business with family members can be a good thing, especially when you started It together. However putting your family member in your business can also lead to some unfavorable consequences. But if you ever want to work with your family member. Let him/her understand that it is a business and should be treated as such. After all the benefit is for all of you.
