Ever receive traffic from an unknown source?

Was there ever a time where you received traffic from an unknown source? Like maybe you received a lot of traffic, and for some reason you couldn't pinpoint where the traffic came from? I can't say I've had this happen, but a friend of mine said he got traffic a few years ago where he couldn't figure out from where.

This has happened to me a couple of times. Google Analytics could not track the source of traffic. However, this traffic from an unknown sources wasn't much, therefore, I did not pay any attention. I guess some poople were trying to send bot traffic on my site.
