One of the major mistakes that a lot of people working from home are making is they chase every opportunity. If you want to excel, you need to pursue quality over quantity. Instead of blindly pursuing all offers, choose jobs that align with your skills. If you do not have the skills, invest time in acquiring them. Optimize your efforts by avoiding jobs that demand extensive time but offer lower pay. Do not get into the job just because other people found success, make sure that you can do it and you have the potential to do it. Freelancing sites can be lucrative, but professional-level skills are paramount for success if you want to make money from home.

You really need to figure out what your skills are, and try to monetize upon them. Considering that it's not going to be easy to do every online job you can find, you need to find something you can do at a high quality. Whether it be writing, art, coding, etc. Find something you are good at, that you think you can monetize.

I write, and I have monetized that in many different ways. You can go the route of finding odd jobs online, but I'd consider really looking at what you can do, and go from there.
