That is definitelly one of the disadvantage that most investors that would like to invest into the government would like to keep it from the reach of the common masses,but the security is far better with good interest on your investment.

Government bond is definitely meant for the rich, because it requires investing with a huge amount of money and it never goes down like corporate stock does goes down,

Of course someone who does not have money will actually not be able to invest in government bonds. it is meant for people who have money and not necessarily very rich.

Yes it's usually for the rich guys as most government bunds don't go down in value truly but you have to be careful of the region you're from before investing in your government bunds

People like myself who don't like taking chances should consider government investments because they will provide them with more security than purchasing equities could.
Though the minimum commitment is considerable, they are often long-term investments.
