Invest in something that blew up, but then dwindled

Have you ever invested into something that eventually blew up, but then out of nowhere lost it's fizzle and died out? Maybe you invested in a new thing and people lost interest after it's initial rise. Has anything like this ever happened to you? How did you sort it out?

This has happened to me with crypto assets. I invested in something that was blowing up but then later the prices started going down. Thankfully, I was smart enough to withdraw my investment before the prices went too low.
