Hiring managers internally or externally?

I would love the company to hire staff internally but if the employees lack the job savvy to be executed in the vacant position, then it will be better to seek employees externally. It is requisite to get job done rightly.

Hiring manager internally is the best thing to do , because the worker being hired should have known much about the business and also know how to handle the staff rather than bringing a stranger who doesn't know about the environment .

I think preference should be given to hiring internally. This will motivate the staff to work harder in the hope of reaching managerial positions or getting promoted to jobs. However, if you are looking for qualifications that none of your staff possess, it is mandatory that you hire externally as you cannot compromise your business.
 
Hiring internally will definitely benefit the business better in my opinion. It's going to be a very good sign to your workers that their work is being appreciated to the point they can be hired. It serves as a big motivation for everyone in that company to know they can get a better position in the future based on hardwork.

Well, the main problem here is that sometimes you may not have the right kind of person who may fit the description of the job, so hiring a manager internally could be very difficult under certain kinds of circumstances. This is why they hire people externally.

When it is very unfortunate that the workers you have internally working for your business cannot really be able to work as a manager of the business, then you don't have any other choice than to look externally for those who have the required skill-set to deliver on the job. This is because that is the most important thing for your business to survive with having the right people doing the right job.
 
If workers can't promote within the company, there will be so much redundancy in workers being committed to their work. If they are going to sit in and watch an external person come in to take over a leadership position, why will they give 100% to the business?

Personally, if I am being very honest, I am going to be very disappointed whenever I know I have the skill that is going to make it possible for me to work as the manager of the company but I wasn't considered for the position and it was given to an externally hired staff to take over the position. Whenever workers are not rewarded for their good effort by the company, it is something that is always going to haunt the company later in the long run.

Yes, it's true the employees working internally in a company were also hired externally at when they were hired in the beginning. It's not wrong to hire externally but it's good to consider the internal staffs if they can do it before going externally.

Yeah, that's very correct and I completely agree with you in this one without any questions or arguments. There's always a time in a business when it's in their business best interest to hire the expert that they need externally. They will get more value in what they need from outside in that case.
