Low Cost Hosting Services

Has anyone tried low cost hosting services? By low cost hosting, I mean hosting services that charge $1 or less per month for hosting. Are they really good (in terms of what you pay, what you get)? I am thinking to try low cost hosting service for my test website and I need recommendation.

I haven't tried them, but I suspect they could be as good as the major brands. However, though, it can be unreliable cause they could go out of business. That happened to me once, but it wasn't on a one-dollar hosting company.

Anyway, back to what I was saying, I ran a free hosting reseller company once and the hosting was great. That's why I say my answer. However, though, that biz went out of business because I gave away too many resources.
