It is very important that we should not try to smuggle contraband goods into the country especially when they are proving to be very harmful. This is because they are not going to undergo any kind of thorough screening and this is going to expose the population to consuming unhealthy products.
Smuggling affects the economy of the country negatively. Smugglers are really making life very difficult for the local manufacturers. The people will prefer to go with cheap products.

Globally smuggling is a menace to countries not only economically in terms of revenue loss but also affecting the health of the populace when consumables are smuggled in and the relevant government agencies are not able to inspect such.
Most of the time , smuggler dont pay what they are suppose to pay , i mean the tax in order to improve the economy of the country , thereby affecting the country economy negative.

There are actually two major disadvantage of smuggling to the country , first it won't allow our local product to becomes big and popular and secondly they normally avoid paying tax to the government.
Hmmm. There was a time the Nigerian government banned the importation of rice this is even when we were not capable of producing our own rice. I alot of people Imported a lot of rice secretly.
