How long do you reasonably foresee your message board being open?

I am not a webmaster, but if I ever own a website, I will continue to keep it open as long as the website was self sustaining and as long as I found passion in running the website.

I am a really passionate writer and I love to write and type. It is my hobby. I have been writing since a really long time. This is why I love blogging, too. However, the main issue is generating enough traffic.

I don't own a website yet. I guess it would be hard to predict when one's message board would be open. It could take a really long time or a really short time.
