I'm not a business owner, but if I was I would schedule my time for work a bit, so that I have time for family. I would also look to make time with the family over making more time with the work.

So, you are definitely going to let your business suffer while your family gets more time, right? That is something that could affect your business, but maybe it is because you want to place your family above all things.

This could be a really hard decision. This is why I think that balancing both the things is a very hard thing to do. The fact of the matter remains that many people may need to prefer one over the other at certain times and this could be a really hard choice.
How I balance my work and personal life as a business owner is by having time for my business and time for my personal life. My business doesn't run 24/7. There is a time when I open and close. After my business is closed, I'll have time for my personal life.
I only work for about six hours on a daily basis. The remaining 18 hours is spent to improve myself, play with my little ones and engage in fun activities.
There were days that I worked more than the six hours. Whenever I overworked myself i always end up feeling miserable the next day and struggling to motivate myself to work. Since then, I don't joke with my personal welfare.

In many cases, many people may need to run their businesses 24/7. They have to make money even when they are sleeping. Under such circumstances, they have to make sure that run their businesses in a really effective manner.
