Have you ever use mistakenly hooked up your monitors to your onboard graphics instead of your graphics card? I ask because I saw posts on reddit a while ago where someone was having issues with gameplay, where the framerate was awful, graphics looked bad, etc. The game at the time didn't know he had connected his HDMI cable to his onboard graphics. He played for hours like this, not thinking anything of it.
