You are very correct, the reason why people still gamble after loss is not far from addiction, no matter how much negativity you experience from gambling, you may still want to play more and this is what addiction causes. People tend to stop when they fall into mental and physical retardation. No doubt, people have to stay away from gambling/betting and put money into safer activities.

But I have came across these reasons from my experience as to why people can't stay away from gambling despite losing everytime.

This happens because some casinos do manipulate the results and make people lose when they bet higher amounts , the site owners would have known the player's betting pattern and accordingly rig the games like dice , mines. ( Note - I am not telling all the casinos are manipulating the bets , there are some legit casino sites as well).
* Players usually continue playing in casinos only because of their varied bonuses offered for wagering.

According to my experience , one should always stay away from gambling , and also should not encourage others to gamble , because the result of gambling is not good , though there are some people who make money from Sports betting , with calculated risks.
