Yes there is always been scammers online but it started to grow alot since people started earning online form crypto and other methods. The scammers have started to grow alot in numbers which is bad. I hope so there would be people who can get rid of them.

Scammers have always been where there is money involved, and they also tend to be early to new trends and try to scam people with a lack of information about said trend, as has happened with crypto, forex, gambling, and other types of investments and businesses, these types of people only use their ingenuity to steal money from honest people. I'm sure that if they used that ingenuity for something else they would do much better.

It is easier to scam people online compared to offline. While you can be easily caught offline, it is quite impossible to catch someone who scams other people online, especially in other countries. That's why online scams are more common. Most of the scamming happens because people do not do research, and the barely see the red flags
