No I think it is not easy as you explained most of people start a business but they don't pursue it cause they wait for fast earnings and that's not possible .
I always tell people that nothing is really easy. if you want to succeed in business you need to work hard and also be able to know the right steps to take.

Nothing comes easy in life and most people that mskes it in life went through thick and thorn to be someone important in life, all you need is great work and dedication ,then you will be unbeatable.
Well, having to answer this question right now, in my opinion it wouldn't be easy to start a business today. Speaking of Italy, my country, our economic crisis aggravated by the coronavirus pandemic, could involve risks. But despite everything, I see someone succeeds.
Nothing is easy and nothing is hard one just has to focus on your mindset just like business one need to prepare for the unforseen challenges one might face.

To start business is very easy so far you have all what it will take like capital, location etc but to maintain the business I think that is where a lot of things need to put in place like know your customers, have record keeping of your sales, advertising of your products etc.
As you told you should have necessary knowledge and capital , more that a half of population of world could not afford for starting a business so it is not easy at all .
Anybody that tells it is easy wants to set you up. Business is beyond what people do imagine. You need to work hard to make it a success and there will be every reason to want to give up. It takes courage and mercy not to do so.
