We hear about investing in gold and silver, but what about gemstones? Diamonds, rubies and emeralds, etc?

I'd love to go to mine rubies and emeralds and was messaging a friend from high school last night about this. There is a place near him (I'm not going there) where you can go mining and he said rubies and emeralds are found in the rocks together.

Investing in gemstones can be an interesting alternative investment option, but it's important to approach it with caution and consider various factors like, expertise, rarity and demand, market liquidity, quality, storage and insurance.

I think that to invest or to mine this type of precious stones you need a lot of money, since the machinery to be able to create a mine and mine these precious stones is too big, and invest in them the same.

I've never considered investing in gemstones but I've actually purchased some ornaments that are designed using gemstones and they very pretty. Some of them are quite expensive as well but the most important thing is that I love them.

I never really thought gemstones were worth much. But maybe I'm wrong. I'm always open to trying to sell new items and if gemstones are worth something, I may keep an eye out for them when I'm out at thrift stores and such. I don't know about other stones, but I'll keep an eye out for all of it.

Gemstones could be expensive. As far as I know, certain kinds of gemstones like diamond are also quite expensive. However, I also like gold, even though it is not a gemstone per say. Many people prefer precious metals over other kind of valuable commodities.

Right now the ones that I have already purchased for myself I'm not seeing them as an investment but as something that I like and I'm making use of.

But if there is a situation whereby I would have to sell them tomorrow, if they are profitable for me to make something from it, I will definitely sell them.

Gemstones do not have any intrinsic value just like gold and silver. I don't mean to say you cannot sell it for a higher price, what I mean is there is no real value attached, it is just a value based on assumption. If you want to buy gemstones and later sell them for a higher price, you might not profit, but if you go on mining, it might be profitable though.

Game stones, yes, minerals with value. Before you make an investment in them, you have to consider a number of factors that, in my opinion, disadvantage you from investing in them.
The first thing you need to look at is the demand for game stones. This takes you back to the market value. If they do not bring back the money you invested, then it is not a good idea to invest in them.
And most importantly, you will need to consider legal and environmental regulations. Ensure that you understand and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and permits related to mining in your specific location. This includes environmental regulations to minimize any negative impact on the environment.

I understand that precious stones are historically known for their value and they'd appreciate very little overtime. This is why buying them not-for-profit but to store money is a very good idea.

There are some gemstones that are rare which makes them have a very high financial value which whenever you decide to sell them, if you happen to have them you are most likely going to make money from them. But I really understand the point you're trying to make when it comes to being able to make more money from gold or silver investment.

Investing in gemstones can be a fascinating idea, especially if you're drawn to the allure of rubies and emeralds. These gems can indeed hold significant value, but it's essential to approach gemstone investing with caution.
