If you've worked for any traditional job, you will either have someone overseeing the employees, but they will have a boss ahead of them and so on. With that being said, has a someone higher up, ever lied to another higher up to get you fired? I've read some stuff on reddit recently, where a guy was let go because he explained he was sick, and the supervisor brought him right to HR saying he's lying about being sick and complaining about working, and so they started on his firing. I forgot what subreddit it was though.

Has something like that ever happened to you?

I have never been fired just because someone senior to me lied about me. I have also never been fired because someone junior lied to the boss. However, I have found that some staff were trying to cover up their shortcomings by putting a blame on me.
