Competition can be a reason, but it is a minor reason why a business should fail. Come to think of it, was a business owner now expecting competition? You should find ways to be better than your competitors in the market or risk being sent away from the market.

I must say that majority of the online businesses fail to produce sales. I am not sure about the actual percentage of online businesses that fail. However, majority of them fail because they cannot keep up with the competition. Older online businesses are quite successful because they have established themselves in the market.

I completely agree with you in this assessment because the success of any kind of business depends on how consistent the business management and operations are carried out. You can't be botheredless in your business and expect it to boom. It's what you put in your business that you're getting out as profits.

I can tell you that this is practically the mentality of most people that are living in my country because they are jealous and envious at the same time which is why they will always be interested in starting a business that they see another person doing successfully without planning and knowing exactly how the person runs the business to be able to do it on their own. 99% of the time, they end closing the business.
