The block war was a dispute within the Bitcoin blockchain that took place in 2017 when two parties clashed within the ecosystem, the Bitcoin block is limited to 1 megabyte, so there was a group that wanted to increase that block size, and those who opposed said increase because they believed that decentralization would be seriously affected, from all this, a hard fork emerged within the Bitcoin network since these two parties did not agree and did not It was decided to increase the block size of 1 megabyte.

The hard fork resulted in the Bitcoin Cash cryptocurrency which currently has a block size of 32megabytes, making it much more economical since it can carry out many more transactions per second, BTC continued its course with its megabyte per block, which has resulted in network congestion, making it uneconomical and difficult to transact, and from this the Lightning network was born, given that the Bitcoin block is still 1 megabyte in size.
