What roles does managers play in helping players?

There have been some players in football that their clubs gave up on in terms of performing, but once the team changed managers, we noticed an improvement in their performances. What do you have to say about players playing better under a new manager?

Managers do management work. So taking calls, helping with the staff and crew and more. Some may even be involved with the play calling aspect of it. They are intended to manage some portion of the sport.

Each manager has a different, distinct approach to football. Even the ones that tries to model their pattern of play on that of a successful manager, they still make tweaks. So, sometimes the new manager may have a style of play that is more suited to the caliber of players currently available in the team.

Another reason for what is popular termed "the new manager bounce" is because the players have a new voice to listen to, and they're eager to impress the new manager. It's just like a dude moving from one soiled romantic relationship to a new babe. Naturally, the guy wants to give his all and be on his best behavior for the new babe. He doesn't want a repeat of the bad experiences of the last relationship. It's the same with footballers who are quick to identify what went wrong with the last manager and try to avoid a repeat at all cost.
