There are four types of knowledge:
book knowledge, reading what people wrote down;
market knowledge, learning the competitive market inside;
business knowledge, how to design enterprise and execute;
building and selling experience.

You need all the knowledge you can get to succeed in a business enterprise of your own. What one person see as knowledge needed for him will be different from what another sees as the knowledge they will need to success in their own business

It is very to acquire this kind of knowledge to enable you develop a vital business strategy.
To start a functional business demand ideas and skill that can enable you to do this effectively.
 
To be successful in business you need knowledge in some key subjects. You need to have good knowledge in accounting, to be able to do basic accounting is important in business. Another knowledge you need is the knowledge of tax laws, this is important so your business doesn't go in debt against the government, or you could employ a financial adviser
 
It is important to be able to promote your products or services effectively. Providing good customer service and having a marketing strategy in place will help you to generate sales.

I think all the mentioned points are needed, they all work together.
Business knowledge or skill still comes first. Before going into a business, you need to get the necessary skills for the business be it products or services. You can not sell what you don't know or have. For instance, a person who doesn't have the skill to cut and sew and then opens a fashion store will end up ruining the business.

And when we are talking about relationship it must be highly valued even to then product end user not only with manufacturer. All involved or that is going to be involved should be treated well accordingly.

You must know the business before you invest on it, that's the first key knowledge you need before you start any business, listen to others because information is power. Knowledge is power also
