Security based operating systems

Instead of using the likes of Windows, Linux and macOS, are there any more security based operating systems one can look into? Ones that take your security seriously and are very hard to hack into. Are there any operating systems that are free from attacks and viruses?

I think no OS is completely secure unless you made one for yourself. If I had to choose between Windows, Linux, and macOS I would choose macOS because Apple is known for privacy and security.

Nothing is hack proof. However, there are OSs out there that do offer better security than your standard Windows or Mac computer. Don't fall for Apple marketing, they follow the "security by obscurity" philosophy which is not good security. They also aren't private.

Qubes OS is the best one I know of for what you're looking for. Everything runs in a virtual machine but because of that it takes quite a bit of horsepower to run.
