Important things to note while preparing quotation for a Job or Contract.

If you are not update then you will be out dated, when making quotation especially for business it is very important you use updated quotation and make sure you cite the quoter of the quotes you are using

Before making quotation be it for a government contract or an individual project you need to visit the market and make reasearch on prices

Sometimes when people are writing a quotation a lot of people who are doing it might omitted some material. this is always so unprofessional. in every quotation you are doing always try to include all the materials that will be needed.

A well detailed and comprehensive description. I know outlining quotation is important because it stimulates emphasis which should be noticed without sight error.

The best way I feel to get a quoted job and making profit is by making sure you don't inflate the price of your materials but tell them how much uou are willing to collect for your workmanship

Well this is a very good and interesting topic which I believe it will helped go a long way on educating people on how to write for the application of contracts and even jobs in any organisation. very impressive to discuss such topics.

Taking your proposals to more experienced persons or individuals that can help your check your arrangements proffesionally before submitting it will go along way to putting you in their favor for selection

In my line of work, I have had to prepare hundreds of quotations for jobs, contract, requisition and request. When I started, I had to look at the templates there, but as I continued I decided to do a bit of research and personal modifications.

You need to note that your quote for the job will either give you the job or otherwise.

First, make sure you itemize this needed for the job and properly describe them to the understanding of whoever will approve it.

Second, the quantity of each item must be stated, this is important because it shows you understood the job or work.

Third unit price should be added to items requiring it then the total price.

Finally and most importantly, let you total price for the job be written in figures and words and in bold characters, this is most important because that is the area of interest for anyone approving it.

Much to say, but with those above your quote will be very presentable.
This is very detailed and well insighted,it means you know your job quite well,if there is a form of template it will go a long way, aside that I will do well to implement this into my job quotation.

Know the job you are preparing the quotation for. Most importantly do a proper market valuation of the price of the goods for the job. Also try to negotiate on the best price possible so you don’t run at a lose at the end of the business.
Yes you are right as a contractor the first thing its expected of you to do first is preparing the quotation, followed by doing good research on valuation on price of goods.

I have seen instances of contractors and businessmen hurriedly estimating quotations of contracts/jobs without actually taking time to do their analysis. As a result, most of them usually run at a loss because of the actual cost of delivering the contract.

A quotation is a very important part of a business and whenever you are preparing for things like this I advise that you should do it as part of a group. This is going to ensure that the best ideas are going to be shared.

I think the quotations of the contract must provide much details of the items. This also includes the total terms of payments and time limit for the payment in case you are selling items on credit terms. The more detailed your quotation is, the better it is.

While preparing a quotation for a contract..first thing is that you must be very precise. And not just parambulate. You must be very perfect with your item price. And highlight them in such a way that it'll be pleasing to the client

By being precise, do you mean quoting the actual value of the goods/services or by including your own commission?. Because most organizations and companies like getting quotations from different organizations in order to select the one with lowest cost.

This is a good and valuable information a contractor should know concerning taking a job quotation when taking a contract,
Itemizing all the necessary instrument you need for the job is also very important, knowing the total price before giving your employer the right quotation.

That entirely depends on the terms of the contract you signed/verbally agreed to before you were hired. If the contract agreement was that you would work until a specific date or goal is met, then you can start working for another employer as soon as that requirement is met.
It is actually we're in such situation you should always make sure that you read the contract very well to understand that everything that is written in there is exactly how you want it otherwise you're going to be in a situation whereby you will hate terms of the agreement.

Well thank you so much for the update and for the article and I have been able to learn a lot from the post and it is actually very productive and very detailed

The most important thing is main idea of any business should be clear and understandable for everyone if you making the quotation , proper label the quotation and looks pleasant to everyone also provide all the necessary information about your business or company In short present everything properly and carefully
