Yeah, no doubt the key to being a pro-marketer or being some marketing guru is real results. A fake can't make money. In fact, since it's so hard to get success, any success is like getting a degree and instant big money.

Myself, I have thought about it, but I don't have the capital to initiate some big project that would, in itself, pretty much set me for life with money from teaching, and pro-marketing (I assume this would include being able to SEO for money.).
