I was looking into mortgage rates and it appears that, as the patterns suggest, the interest rates will not be going below 5% until 2025, possible 2026. As of right now, the last quarter of 2024 is showing it stable around 5.4%.

The housing market is currently experiencing a downturn due to various factors such as economic uncertainty, high unemployment rates, and decreased buyer demand. This has resulted in decreased home prices and slower sales activity.
When there is a recession, how can any market, including the housing market, remain untouched? This is the reason why the housing market is not looking good this year. Another reason is inflation. Inflation is high, which can lead to loss of income opportunities and also loss of monetary value, which has created financial scarcity in people's lives so that can noi longer afford to buy a house.
