Build your own house in the woods?

I was on a YouTube binge as of late and caught myself watching a lot of those YouTubers who build their own houses in the lick of nowhere, usually in a forest or somewhere remote. These guys will sometimes build pools in the middle of nowhere with just their hands and skills. What if you were to just go out into the woods and build your own home. I imagine there are some laws against that in some countries, but I imagine if you are on land not owned by anyone, it should be fine, right?

Anyway, would you build a house out in the middle of nowhere all by yourself?

I do not know how it goes in other countries, however, in our country a piece of land that no individual or companies will always be owned by the government. The government ownes all land that is not occupied by individuals and companies, including forests, mountains, etc. Therefore, you cannot build a house in woods if you do not own it.
