Yes you are right. There are many apps now that are being created by third parties to emulate the original site, however another concern apart from the creators just getting your log in details, is the fact that there is also the possibility whereby these apps can have malware or other backdoors that are installed in your device that could possibly even corrupt the other applications on your device.
