Yes researching an app is very important when looking into downloading the application. However, when researching i think that it is also important to note that the reviews that you find on the app must be objective. There are many paid positive reviews on scam apps and therefore in my opinion, forums such as this one are the more reliable options in terms of applications legitimacy.
 
That's true , this Forum also has section for apps reviews though they are majorly rewarding apps. The dangerous of them all is downloading a fake wallet app. In the end you will loose your hard earned money.
 
The apps I use on my phone are always downloaded from the play store or from the official site. I do not download and install apps that look suspicious. THis helps me with security of my device.
