What is the meaning of propriety trading?

There are many trading companies out there. In many cases, such kind of trading companies utilise the funds of their clients in order to trade in the financial market. However, this is not the case all the time, as certain companies may also utilise their own fund and this is called propriety trading. So, is this a good way to trade?

For the right person it is. It is not something I ever looked into personally. It is just not in the scope of my plans nor sounds like it would be worth my time. You really need to know what you are doing or you end up losing a lot of money!
