In order to learn how to compose a written work, you need to thoroughly understand the principle of doing it. And first of all, it is necessary to understand what an English essay is and why it is written.

So, when studying a foreign language, we develop several skills at once: vocabulary, grammar, reading, phonetics (understanding), pronunciation and writing. An essay is a grouping of logical thought in the English language. An essay contains a thesis statement, which states what the entire essay is about, and topic sentences for subsequent paragraphs, which are logically related to the thesis statement. I would encourage you to think of the relation between thesis and topic sentences like a syllogism:

On the internet, the title of your article is your thesis statement (for an online essay) and the subheaders are your topic sentences. Note that not all blog posts are essays - some are dedicated to telling stories - but most factual websites follow an essay format to organize their articles and data.
