Think Last of Us 2 Multiplayer will ever happen?

The Last of Us 2 was supposed to get a multiplayer mode at some point, but it looks as if it all has been scrapped. Especially after the recent Sony leak or hack, it's not looking good for the MP to to ever release. It also doesn't help that the principal designer on the project has left Naughty Dog. Do you think this MP mode will ever come out?
