Are you a die hard investor in stocks or bonds? Which do you prefer to invest in?

We went with bonds early on until we moved over to mutual funds. We never really got into stocks except through mutual funds because we didn't want to pay any other fees.

Choosing between stocks and bonds as investment options depends on your financial goals, risk tolerance, time horizon, and market conditions.

Besides that, the value of stocks can decline, and there is a possibility of losing your investment.

In our home country, the average return from the stock market is around 15 percent, however, the average return on government bonds is around 10 percent and it is 12 percent for corporate bonds. I have invested in bonds and stocks, for diversifying my portfolio and also for minimizing risks, but my preference is for stocks.

The decision to invest in stocks or bonds, or a combination of both, depends on your individual circumstances and investment objectives. Diversification is often recommended, as it can help spread the risks and potential returns across different asset classes.

Stocks can offer higher returns than bonds over the long term, but they also come with higher volatility and risks. Investing in stocks is generally recommended for those with a longer investment horizon (5 years or more) and a higher tolerance for risk.

Honestly I prefer stocks to bonds, although bonds are safer generally, I prefer to risk more waiting for better returns, on the other hand you can also opt for stock indexes such as the SP500, the Nasdaq or the Russell 2000, which include many companies in the same index thus reducing risk and investing in good companies at the same time.
