The reality is it is very difficult to get people to dig what you're into. In fact, I would want to get a big social media following before even trying to pitch ideas on Go Fund Me etc.. Do you feel that's the wise thing to do? I feel like it gives you a strong army to back you.

It is easier to pitch to common people than Angel investors and equity investors. If you have something that attracts common people, you can try pitching to common people through kicksarter. Go fund is good for personal financial need. Kicksarter is good for business funding.9

That's true, ordinary people are more likely to support a common or semi-professional project, while angel investors are going to look for an idea with a lot of potential and with a very marked strategy, social networks can be the perfect portal for that.
