How to deal with stress and overeating during the holiday season?

I think it's not just me, during the New Year and Christmas holidays, the days are very difficult and you feel very inactive, and it's all because of the food we consume these days, which is very harmful and also in large quantities. How, for example, to fight with this, because simply reducing food consumption is not a solution, restorative procedures are needed after the end of these holidays.
 
Well, I don't really know what to say. I figure the only solution is to do exercise to burn it off. Of course, a person could reduce the holiday meals, no matter how unfun that is, and then eat stuff later as leftovers. In fact, leftovers from turkey can be quite delicious.
 
It also happens to me that during the holidays I am too idle, unproductive and eating a lot which, as you say, I don't think is very beneficial or healthy, what I do is try to do some sports and try to be with the family as comfortable as possible so as not to stress me out.
 
In times like this I avoid too much processed food when necessary cause am less active, implying that exercise might help out if you can't avoid doing so. Taking much fruits in seasons like this is considered a helping factor.
