It's works best if you a using WiFi to do your browsing. But if you pay for data subscription you are wasting your resources. 1gb of data is equal to 1 dollar. It's just not worth it to me. A subscription I normally use for a month got exhausted in a week.

This is hard to say because it depends on how comfortable you are with letting an application use your computer or phone’s internet without you knowing 100% what they’re doing.
