Would you ever set up your own forum software business? These days there's plenty of competition to choose from, from the likes of Xenforo to Invision power services, to the lesser-than-good vBulletin. If you could code a forum software, would you throw your hat into the forum software business to compete with the big guys?

Forums are not what they once were, thanks mostly to social media. Places like Reddit, Twitter, etc. have made it very hard to build a successful forum. Knowing this and knowing there are already amazing options out there for people, both paid and free... I personally would not.

I feel if one wants to consider that kind of business, it's best to strategise properly and think of ways that people can also earn on your forum, that will increase your audience and make you more money.

That's not at all true. The fact remains that now forums are quite popular. In fact, they are far much more popular than ever before. This is due to the fact that now more and more people are creating forums and paid forums are also becoming quite popular as well.

I am not sure if designing a forum software of your own which you are going to push into the market so that all the forum users are going to make use of it is something that is going to sell very well because there are so many other popular software companies online today that is going to be very difficult for you to challenge their authority in the market.

Forum software business involves developing and providing software solutions for creating and managing online discussion platforms known as forums. well-known forum software businesses include vBulletin, XenForo, phpBB, Discourse, and Vanilla Forums. These companies provide robust and feature-rich solutions to support online communities, discussion boards, support forums, and more, catering to a wide range of industries and organizations. It will be a big task to compete with the above names but it isn't impossible.

It is just like someone who is trying to compete with Elon Musk business of Telsa company because it is something that will require you billions of dollars for you to put up a very big competition to rival the company in a way that you can be able to make profit for yourself.

If you check the top 10 most used forum software, you will see most of the forum software is open source. There are also a few premium software included on the list, like xenforo, vBulkletin, etc. D you think you will be able to topple these top free and paid software?

The popularity of forums today is no longer used to be because of the way social media platforms have grown so much and they have suppressed the popularity of forums. It is only those people who are helping to propagate forums today that are making use of it, otherwise social media have dominated everything about forums.

Well, there are certain forum software that are quite popular and used by many webmasters. I think that competition is quite common in this field and sector as well. small forum software companies might be competing with each other. The vanilla forum software is also quite popular as well.

As far as I'm concerned, it's Xenforo WordPress, and Invision Community forum softwares that leads the race in paid forum software. These softwares are not used in social media set up like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc but only forums and blogs.

Xenforo is quite popular, but Vanilla forum is also used by many forum creators. In the end, it all depends on what you choose and what you prefer. Certain features are provided by certain forum software. These features might be quite exclusive.

Yeah, that's very correct. Vanilla Forums, Zendesk, Khoros Communities, Xenforo, vBulletin and Discourse are some of the best forum softwares used to build an online community. The most important thing is for you to choose the one that best suits your forum needs.
