I have used some free means to advertise my blog. The results are mixed as I usually get low traffic from most of the sources. Traffic is very important to every forum or blog. I just wish I can get an affordable way of bringing traffic to my blog. Social media works if you have good number of followers.

You can also employ a social media influencer or someone who has a lot of followers on social media to help you promote your blog. It will be good if you also have a lot of followers

Without advertising your forum, you will find that it will be more difficult to get new members or even new traffic to your forum. I have known many people to create a forum and do no advertising or promotion at all and instead, hope that people will just find their forum and are always let down when it doesn't happy.

Well, marketing and promotion are very important to get members and activities, as well as traffic, to your forum. However, where you advertise is very important. I do not think you search engine advertising or even social media advertising is beneficial for forums.

I've done a lot of promotion over the years. From at forums, to other sites, and social media. Social media is where I get most of my traffic, so I just lost new articles from my sites and it gets some decent traffic. So I haven't really don't much outright advertising in a while. I just use social media to my advantage.

Yes I advertise my news forum - on social media and some forums which I am highly active. My forum is new so I am open to suggestions and feedback on how to market my forum online. For me, the best option to advertise a website is mainly social media - facebook, twitter, instagram, this forum, etc etc.
