would you rather have $10 000 in Bitcoin or $10 000 in USD, that you can't sell for 5 years?

Of course I would prefer $10 000 in bitcoin than USD. Do you know how much bitcoin might be in five years? It might be closer to a million dollars based on this bullish run predictions.

Lol, I understand your points. You don't want to take chances at all for your funds given to you. If its me I'll feel same way. But as a long term crypto investor, I'll opt to get the funds in BTC. I know what the value of the cash will be in the next 2-3 years.
I love this optimistic point of view... I know crypto generally is here to stay. But I'm rather pessimistic with BTC itself. I'd prefer to invest in other upcoming currencies tho. Plus nobody knows what the value of BTC will be in 2 years time. But I know how to grow the money in 2 years.

To be realistic, this is a very tough question. Bitcoin is a very solid project but I do not know just like anybody how the price of bitcoin would be in the next 5 years as to me, the current price is even so much over valued. I will definitely prefer to have the value in dollars.

I would prefer to have 10000 dollars in Bitcoin rather than having $10000 in my US dollar wallet that I cannot withdraw because bitcoin has proven over and over again that the value can increase over time even if the volume is producing at the moment.

Compared to my local currency, the value of $10,000 might be slightly better in the next 5 years but I believe the value of bitcoin will be more in 5 days compared to USD. Maximum I can earn on fiat currency from a bank is 9 percent annually, but bitcoin price might grow exponentially.
Yes, you can't earn much when you're saving money via offline banking institution within the period of one year. Cryptocurrency can bring by far better ROI with in the period of one year than fiat currency saved in the bank.

The sudden increase in Bitcoin price compare to real currency is true that you can get rich within a month of trading. However, there is also the risk of losing money because of the price fluctuation. For a 5-year period we do not know what can happen so it is a big risk for the Bitcoin.

Since I know the funds can't grow to a reasonable funds in the offline bank. The bank yearly return isn't much compared to what your coins can achieve in the next one year.

Having the money in crypto is far better to me. Even if the crypto does just x2 in five years which is very rare,it'll increase the value of my money. Saving it in USD will only prevent it fròm dipping.

If I am to save it for five years time, I will go for BTC because it is possible for that want to give me a higher interest compared to the usdt which is the stable coin, I choose based on how it will increase in the future.

I will choose Bitcoin over the dollar. I believe that in that 5 years time I think the $10,000 will still be $10,000 dollars. But I believe if you put it in Bitcoin your $10,000 probably will no longer be $10,000 dollars. It could either be $100,000 in five years or $100 dollars. It's because Bitcoin is very high in volatility. The price can either go up or down.

As for me , I will prefer bitcoin b cause of it's volatility. The 10000$ in USD may accumulate profit quite alright but the profit won't be as much as what cryptocurrency can give you with such time frame

I would choose to have bitcoin that I am holding in my wallet for five years. This is because its price keeps rising with time and I might earn good profit by that time. However, I fear that the price may fall then I loose and that makes me want to opt for the dollar. Anyway, it is worth taking a risk.
Bitcoin is also my first and last choice. It's true that it's price is rising higher and you can earn a good profit as it does. However, if the price is going down then you will lose your money if you panic sell. In spot limit trading, even if the price is going down, you are not going to lose all your money but it's the value that is going down.

I think I would have my ten thousand dollars in fiat USD than in Bitcoin since I can always go and put the amount of Bitcoin I think I can invest in later

Having 10,000 USD in dollars also means saving in bank. I would rather have it in bitcoin than having it in dollar. If pool back in 5 years we will see that the price of bitcoin is far more than times 10 of the initial price. Which means in 5 years to this time the money will increase to $100,000

I have been watching crypto market since 2015. I remember Bitcoin was $400 back then. It is $38,000 now. You can see how much bitcoin has grown over the period just 5 years. Price might go down momentarily, but ultimately it will rise.
