With the covid 19 pandemic there are many that are in lockdown and there are many more that do not have jobs as well. AS such there are people that are desperate for their earnings and in this way they are quite vulnerable. As with vulnerability there is always those that are willing to take advantage of people and this is where the scammers come in. I feel that during this time scammer may choose to take advantage of this vulnerability and as such there will be a rise in the crypto scams that we see online? Do you concur?

I implore all members to be careful on the online earning strategies and to do the necessary research before you invest in any online method. Also as a rule of thumb, if it sounds to good to be true, then it likely is. I wish you all the best and stay safe from online scammer. To beat them we need to stop falling victim to their scams.

Pandemic or no pandemic, there has always been crypto scams. But you are still correct, now that most people are jobless, they will use the opportunity to set up scam sites and cryptos to syphon from unsuspecting people. So we need to be always cautious about the type of crypto we deal with. This also applies to online investments.

Yes online investments are where the most scam's happen. These are often referred to as the HYIP sites and they are very high risk because they are more often then not scams. They offer exorbitant interest rates., My phiilophy is that if something sounds like it is too good to be true then it probably is and as a result then I will avoid it at all costs even if the reviews show that it is legit.

Well, considering that many people are facing financial issues in the pandemic, some of them will surely have to break the law in order to get some money, so it's a sure thing that we will see more scammers

Yes, for sure the pandemic had brought about more crypto scams already and even some still ongoing and as you said , we just need to be very careful. Because of the pandemic, many lost jobs and are forced by situations to enter into crypto. On their journey many scammers in different forms scammed them even though some never gave up and ended in, many gave up and still don't believe much about crypto realities.

Yeah , I think the lockdown that came with the covid-19 pandemic has made people to be idle , broke while staying at home , and this will lead scammers to increase their scamming activities ,in order to earn something to sustain them

Pandemic will not bring an increase in crypto scam but rather create the much awaited awareness in the crypto world.
Do you not feel that with an increase in awareness in crypto there will be more that are venturing into it and as a result these newbies into the crypto world are the ones that are likely to be considered to be the prey for the scammers. Many are vulnerable when they first enter crypto and they are unaware of all the scams that are out there and therefore this awareness could actually also lead to more scam as well? What is your take on that?/

As for me, I find no correlation between the current pandemic and increase in cryptocurrency scam. Because before the pandemic commencement in 2019, cryptocurrency scam where in their increase already.

Yes I do agree with you and at the start there was a lot of crypto scams even in the years that were before this pandemic, however I feel that the pandemic has instead left people more vulnerable and since they ae desperate they are more likely to fall for these scams.

This is a really difficult question, I just cant relate the pandemic and increased cryptocurrencies scams together. But you would be correct if you are relating the emergence of another lockdown to increased scams in general and not just cryptocurrency scams at that point most people would be jobless, they will use the opportunity to set up scam sites and cryptos to syphon from unsuspecting people.

Scamming is not time relative. It happens every time and every day. We don't know about it already because it has never happened to us or someone we know. There was a guy that tried to scam a guy in the group I belong yesterday. So, the cryptocurrencies traders just have to put on strict security measurements.

With each security measure that is being implemented there are scammers that are still trying to take advantage of it unfortunately. The key to have a good security measure and system is to try and perhaps update your security system every couple of weeks or every month in a form of maintenance to ensure that your security measures cannot be hacked.

Although there has always been scams right from time, but i think everything worsened due to the pandemic as a lot of people lost their job, some have been restricted to work from home there by having more time to visit the Internet, i believe that since the beginning of the pandemic Internet usage from people all over the world must have tripled

The internet usage would definitely have increased drastically over this time because now instead of people making use their work network each would have to have their own network by which to work and most of the tasks for those working are done online and with online meetings and so forth so this is also another point to consider as well.

Yes, the Pandemic has left a whole lot of family jobless and people are now resorting to online jobs to meet their daily needs. Furthermore, with the rise in the price of all crypto coin across the globe scammers might launch a scheme to scam people with promise of high returns just like smart contract.

This is quite the truth, it's very true that the activities of scammers will be on the rise during this pandemic period as they will be desperate to make money at all cost from unsuspecting online workers.

Cryptocurrencies has its own fair share of scammers on the prowl, so we that deal on cryptocurrencies should be careful how we conduct our cryptocurrency businesses, avoid dropping our cryto wallet address anywhere.

I think there has been high rate of crypto scams before the pandemic , only that it became more popular and many started experiencimg high rate due to the pandemic ,,since most hackers and scammers were creating online sites, since they all believe that many people would be busy earning online and all that i think

People of all ages, including the elderly, are being victimized by criminals through cryptocurrency-related fraud schemes. Developments in cryptocurrency technology and an increasing number of businesses accepting it as payment have driven the growing popularity and accessibility of cryptocurrency. There are not only numerous virtual asset service providers online but also thousands of cryptocurrency kiosks located throughout the world which are exploited by criminals to facilitate their schemes

This is also a valid point as to why the number of scams has increased as well. With many people being online almost constantly in a way it has become much easier to target these people and as such this has affected the number of scams as well as there is larger population for scammers to target.
