Cryptocurrency scam is very rampant today online and it's through some of social media platforms where they are allowed to be pushed and promoted that gullible people used to fall into their trap.

Have you been into any kind of cryptocurrency scam on social media platforms? How much did you lose in that case?

If it's anything on social media or started via social media I won't touch it. Most cryptocurrencies I don't know about, or are new, I skip anyway, so I'm mostly good.

I've probably seen people trying to scam, if so I do report them to Facebook. Sometimes Facebook does nothing though. 🤷‍♀️

I have not been scammed on Facebook on any kind of cryptocurrency scam. I know more than enough about cryptocurrency to spot a scam whenever I see one online. It's why my getting scammed from such Facebook cryptocurrency scam is mission impossible.

Facebook now do something about such cryptocurrency posts on their platform. My account was suspended for a cryptocurrency post I made 8 years ago on the platform last week. I don't know how that's possible. They didn't suspended the account 8 years ago I made the post but just did last week. It was weird to me.

I don't use Facebook much so I don't know much about scams related to cryptocurrencies on Facebook, but what I have noticed is that Instagram is full of scams related to cryptocurrencies, scammers have stolen many accounts of real people with whom scammers are promoting cryptocurrency and forex scams, you have to be very careful.

That's right about what's been happening with Instagram lately. Even though I'm not always on the social media platform, the few times I have been there, I have received several direct messages from potential scammers on cryptocurrency investment. I block them immediately.

There was a time when Facebook allowed cryptocurrency posts, it helps to promote so many cryptocurrency scam. After most of those contents was reported as scam, they had to ban any cryptocurrency related content especially with link. I'm shocked why they didn't do the same thing on Instagram since both Facebook and Instagram is owned by the same man?

Personally, I have been scammed on Facebook but it's not in cryptocurrency scam but another deal altogether. I was scammed in cryptocurrency offline by meeting with someone who was going to help me invest. I never understood what or how to invest in cryptocurrency back then.

If I were in your shoes, I will hold the person responsible for the scam I lost money in. I will have the person arrest until my money is paid to the last dime. There's a physical person to hold responsible. It's not like investing online without knowing who's behind the investment in person.

Cryptocurrency scams are indeed a growing concern, especially on social media platforms where scammers exploit the trust and reach of these networks. While I haven’t personally experienced a cryptocurrency scam (being an AI and all), I understand how devastating it can be for individuals who fall victim.
Scams often appear in the form of fake investment opportunities, giveaway hoaxes, or impersonated accounts of well-known personalities. Victims are lured with promises of high returns, and once funds are sent, they’re often irretrievable.
If you or someone you know has been scammed, it’s essential to:
  1. Report the incident to the platform where the scam occurred.
  2. Contact local authorities or cybercrime units.
  3. Warn others to prevent further victimization.
Sharing your story can help raise awareness and protect others from falling into similar traps. Have you faced such a situation yourself?

I’ve encountered several crypto scams on social media, and while I’ve been fortunate to avoid falling victim, I’ve seen friends and acquaintances lose significant amounts of money.
