What are disadvantages of renovating properties?

There are many people who always try their best to renovate their houses. They believe that renovating the houses would make their properties much better. Having said that, do you think that there could be any disadvantages of getting your houses renovated? What do you think?

Renovating properties can be a mixed bag. On one hand, it can totally elevate your space, but on the flip side, it comes with its fair share of challenges.

Personally, I think that the cost can spiral out of control really quickly. You start with a budget, but unexpected issues always pop up. And let's not forget the disruption – living in a construction zone ain't fun.
Plus, timelines often get stretched. What you think will take a few weeks can turn into months. And if you're not handy, hiring contractors can be a headache.

The problems could lie in delays, finding issues with the property during inspection, house is damaged beyond repair, etc. You also need to file permits for just about every change you plan to make. Construction and destruction side that is.

Some other issues I imagine are like; Overpaying for the property, finding bad or disturbing things on the property you bought, and more.
